Which deadline applies to me?
An application can have several dates: a programme deadline, a platform step and additional university requirements. One date may describe only one part of the application.
Programme, entry year and admission round
The relevant programme, entry year and admission round determine which application deadline to use. Where round deadlines are recorded, the programme card in Universities shows them separately. Early Action, Early Decision and Regular Decision dates are not interchangeable.
A previous cycle's date is a reference, not confirmation of your own deadline. The public Deadlines page can retain past dates when no upcoming replacement is recorded, so the cycle and past-date label matter.
Platform dates and additional university steps
The Deadlines page groups application-platform dates separately from International Baccalaureate (IB) exam and result dates. Its university lookup shows the selected institution's recorded additional steps, such as supporting documents and financial aid. If no additional dates are recorded, further steps may still be required.
The public calendar is not a complete list of programme deadlines or university requirements. The institution's admissions instructions describe the steps that apply to its programme and your application.
Uncertainty, closing time and time zone
Projected programme application dates are unconfirmed for the cycle shown. A note saying the date is not yet published can accompany an earlier cycle's date. More: Why some dates say "projected".
Where the Deadlines page shows a closing time and a time zone, they belong together. If a closing time is missing, check the official instructions rather than assuming midnight in your own time zone.
Confirmation before submission
A programme's application-page link, when recorded, and a university's website link are routes to the official instructions. Check that those instructions match your programme, entry year and round. If information conflicts or is unclear, ask the admissions office or your counsellor before relying on it.
